I am having some stiff neck pains and difficulty turning my head to the left or right. No injuries known.?

I was not injured, and had typical walking work out, light weight lifting. The pain is generally in the back of my neck and runs up to the base of the skull. I know I did not injure myself, but it seems the muscles are unusually stiff, anyone have any recommendations for relief? Tylenol is not helping, and neither did sleep!!!

Should I go to a chiropractor for a hip rotation?

2010
03.30

I went to a massage therapist because of some problems with aching in my neck, shoulders and back. He told me that I needed to go to a chiropractor to get a hip rotation to correct my posture.

I’ve never thought much of chiropractors, though I’ve never been to one. Any advice on this please?

What should I expect?
What do they do in a hip rotation?
Are there any dangers (e.g. spine damage) from what they do?

Weird symptoms=Some nausea, migraine!!!, eye pain, stiff neck, chills/cold sweats, fatigue. Sudden onset.?

Monday afternoon, as I was leaving work, I experienced all of the symptoms above (nausea, migraine, eye pain, stiff neck, cold chills/clammy feeling, fatigue). It continued through Wednesday morning. It’s Thursday and I feel better, but am having stomach issues (aka not regular… :-/ )

The previous week, we were on vacation at the beach for an entire week. Sunday morning, I started a new pack of birth control pills, and took them about 2-3 hours later than the previous month because I had to pick them up at the pharmacy on Sunday morning. (And I’m married and old.)

Everyone always tells me “You’re Pregnant”. If that is the case, I would have about 1287 kids by now.

I’m not throwing up or anything, just feel pukey.

The worst pain of all was the migraine.

What gives? (Trying to decide whether to bother my doctor or tough it out.)

How often to go to a chiropractor?

2010
03.27

I was recently diagnosed (by an MD) with sciatica. While it has been getting better, I decided to seek the treatment of a chiropractor. I had my first consultation and adjustment this week. He took x-rays and determined my spine is not vertically straight (I lean to the left slightly). However, he wants me to come back 3 times a week for 8 weeks, then go on a maintenance schedule. I was sort of skeptical of chiropractors to begin with, but to me this seems excessive. He said my muscle memory needs to be changed and that is the reason for the frequent visits up front. Does this seem reasonable? Are there more questions I should ask of him before committing to this schedule (and expense since not covered by insurance)?

What do medical doctors think of legit chiropractors that only treat musculoskeletal conditions?

2010
03.18

I am a chiropractor that only focuses on conditions involved with the musculoskeletal system. I find it hard to legitimize myself when the next chiro down the street claims to cure cancer, etc… I would like feedback from MD’s on how they feel about legitimate chiropractors….Thanks
