shoulder muscle tear? Pain and stiff neck and upper back! HELP?

Playing tennis a couple weeks ago. Since then constant pain in my shoulder and upper back. I’ve been to the chiropractor alot for it. It just seems to be getting worse and now for the last few days my neck and upper back are so stiff that I wake up crying and can’t even turn over in bed. What can I do for the pain? Exercise? Rest? Its hard to even sleep. Its really painfull to move my neck to even look around. Please any help will be good! Thanks

    There are Chiropractors and there are Chiropractors – some are not very good honestly said. Just like with any profession you have some better than others.
    Is this one that specializes in Sports Chiropractic?
    You might also consider seeing one that does Upper Cervical Chiropractic (a specialty unto intself – you can search for that).

    If it’s already been a couple of weeks it should have gotten a little better by now, not worse. You probably need an MRI to see any tissue damage. They will probably send you for an x ray first. If they don’t find anything then they will send you to have an MRI. But you should see a Dr. Sometimes chiropractors help and sometimes they don’t. I have a pinched nerve and have been seeing a chiropractor everyday now for over a month and it hasn’t helped at all. I’m still waiting for my MRI, hopefully I’ll get it soon. If you feel it’s a muscle problem then use heat. If it feels good while you are using the heat but then five minutes later it hurts even more, stop using the heat. If this happens chances are it’s not a muscle issue and you are actually irritating it even more with the heat. In this case use cold packs. Unfortunately you will need to use the cold pack all day. Stay home for a couple of days, and ice ice ice… all day. Take it easy. In the mean time make an appt. with your doctor. I hope you feel better soon. I’m going through something similar and I too have had to try quite a few different things. I used heat for a couple of weeks and it was the wrong thing to do. Since I started using the ice I do feel a little better. I still hurt like hell but I definitely feel the difference between the heat and ice……. Feel better!
