What can be the cause of my constant shoulder pain and what can I do about it?

I have this constant pain on my shoulder, around shoulder blade, and pain in my arm. It basically feels as if I have had the shit beaten out of me. I can’t even really stand to have any one touch these areas.

You don’t give much information, but when you stated you can’t stand to have anybody touch those areas makes it sound like what I have, which is fibromyalgia. I also can’t stand to have anybody touch my shoulder areas, either. If it’s just pain and no numbness or tingling, you can probably rule out a pinched nerve.

My suggestion is to make an appointment with your family doctor to see if it is fibromyalgia. There are a few tests they do to determine that (it’s not painful!). Fibromyalgia patients, such as myself, often feel as if they’ve been run over by a truck. See your doctor just to rule that out.

One thing that works for me, for the shoulder pain, is heat. Try a heating pad with moist heat. That should help ease the pain.

    I wish you well.
